2015 CNY #3

The fireworks explode outside my dining room window as I type.  Dan jumps up to shut the living room window on the opposite wall as colorful fireworks shoot up past our 11th story apartment.  The celebration continues all around us!  I’ve read books that say, “excitement was in the air” and I always imagined I understood what it meant.  Walking home together at 11:30pm on Chinese New Year’s Eve with fireworks going off all around, people smiling, arms piled high with red packages of firecrackers, and noise like I’ve never heard before coming to China, there is excitement in the air.  Being in China surrounded by the energy and noise and happiness at Chinese New Year gives new meaning to the phrase and I agree.  There is excitement in the air!
