breathe slowly

Recently the city we live in was rated within China as the Happiest City in which in live.  Similar maybe to America’s Most Livable City ratings.  We enjoy the benefits of living here, but today is one of the days when our city ranks up with the best of them on the other end of the spectrum, specifically in Highest Pollution Levels  🙂

Luckily, here it’s not chemical pollution, it’s mostly the dirt that the wind is bringing in, but needless to say, I think the only time we’ll spend outside is during our walking/biking commutes to class, and our 2 o’clock meeting with a teacher at the kids’ school.  Glad everyday isn’t like this and grateful to be able to live in a place where I don’t worry everyday about my children’s lung development.

Sooo…does everyone walk/bike around with face masks on during days like this? This picture reminds me of our city in the winter time – but that dirt would be coal smoke. We are not quite green here yet. But you guys are so green there is “all-natural” dust everywhere!! Oh dear. Let’s all keep “breathing slowly” 😉
