A taxi ride…

Where did your last unexpected happiness come from?  My second day in China, where we have moved our family, riding in the back of a taxi surrounded by strange smells, I saw the lights and huge red lanterns decorating the city in preparation for Chinese New Year.  I was happy.  It’s been years since one of my kids fell asleep sitting in my lap.  Riding home tonight I had not one, but three kids sleeping either on my lap or leaning up against my arms on either side.  Kids are way more fun when they are awake, but there was a calm happiness I haven’t had in awhile that filled me on the drive home.  May an unexpected happiness find you soon.
